There are only two ways to dry your diapers - hooray for simplicity! Now that you are turning greener with your eco-conscious diapers you are probably toying with the idea of line drying - right?
It really is a good idea to line dry - you get exercise, the sun is a natural stain remover, you can’t beat the smell of wind blown diapers, and it will save electricity. But if you line dry your diapers be prepared for your diapers to feel like 2x4’s when you take them off the line. They also have a tendency to take all day to dry if the weather is just right - so have enough back up diapers to use.
The stiff diaper problem is easily remedied with a few minutes in the dryer on the fluff cycle. Oh, and for really soft diapers, throw in a wool dryer ball (you can buy these online from a work at home mom) or even a tennis ball or 2! Sure it is loud but your diapers sure come out fluffy! On the days that line drying isn’t feasible, use an indoor drying rack. This won’t get them totally dry very fast but you can throw them in the dryer for a few minutes to finish the job - this will still save energy.

If line drying just isn’t for you, then use your dryer. Actually, it is recommended for you to dry your PUL on high heat once in awhile to keep it sealed. If you are worried about elastic and PUL being worn out faster from repeated high heat dryers, you can put those on an indoor drying rack and dry your fitteds/inserts/whatever else in the dryer. When it comes to drying, do what is right for you. I personally love seeing my diapers on my clothesline and smelling the fresh country air, and seeing the lack of stains on my diapers cause the sun bleaches so well! But I don’t live near the equator and it does get cold/rainy here, so my dryer is very well used and I haven’t had any troubles!

What great tips!! I'm not sure if I'll be a cloth-diaperer or not but you definitely have some GREAT tips here, LOVE IT!
I know quite a few people who cloth diaper and would love to know this!
Oh, BTW I found ya through SITS! :)
HI! Cloth diapers you Rock!Your children are beautiful.I am now a follower
I wish we could line dry, but the rules where we rent do not allow it. :(
That makes me laugh, we don't get enough sun for anything to dry outside. Mold/moss grows on everything, but I do remember that stiff feeling when I used to live in Texas and was actually able to line dry
do not hate me...cloth diapers scare the POOP out of me.

Good to know! I am new to cloth diapering so it's definitely a learning process!
I hate line drying, to me no matter when you di ti things are always stiff.
Nice tips. I wanted to do cloth diapers but never was brave enough. I think they are a great idea though.
Great info! Yay for me though, I've changed my last diaper!!! No more.
sunshine & air is the best.
but a dryer can kill extra nasties
I'm past the diaper stages with my kids, but this post made me remember how my mother used to line dry out sheets when I was young - nothing beats the smell of sheets dried by sunshine and a cool breeze - kwim?
those are the cutest dryer balls I have ever seen. And I dont have kids in diapers but if I had a line I would dry my clothes outside.
Awesome! I never heard of these and will have to give them a try. We use cloth diapers as well and love drying them in the sunshine, but Summer only lasts so long and then it's dryer time for the rest of the year!
I love the wool dryer balls, I'll definitely check them out!!! I love putting my diapers in the sun to dry, and I only dry the inserts in the dryer if I'm drying clothes at the same time. In the winter you can put stained diapers on the dash of your car to get rid of the stains...even if they don't get that freshair smell!
