Loobalee Review and Giveaway!

Have you tried to sell things on eBay? Well there is a reason there are people making money selling other people's things for them - it is time consuming and a tad overwhelming for a newbie like me. eBay works super well for those that know how to work it but I never had success because I didn't have the time to learn the little tricks.

So if I want to sell my Lizzie Lou's adorable clothes I could try our local consignment shop - but that didn't work and I only got like $2 for a cute dress.

There had to be a way to sell my clothes for what they were worth.

Then I found Loobalee! WooHoo!

It is only $30 for unlimited listings on their site. And you will be in the company of some gorgeous listings - Ralph Lauren, Gymboree, Tommy Hilfiger and Baby Lulu to name a few! And it is super easy to list things on there too. The site is super well organized and easy to navigate with very detailed search terms. This is a frugal mom's online shopping dream come true!

Want a few examples?

  • I saw an adorable pink L.L. Bean snow jacket and pants set listed for $15. After zooming in on the pics (love that option!) I couldn't see the reason for the low price except that it isn't new. I am still trying to convince Josh to let me get that one!
  • A pink roses Baby Lulu Chenille dress with matching hat for only $16.50!
If you want to buy designer children's clothes but don't want to wait for sales and love shopping online, or if you have a bunch to sell, check out Loobalee!

Upbeat Energy Refreshing Drink {Review}

Short and simple: upBeat energy refresher tastes delicious and keeps me going. It does what it says: as I clean my house, chase my two year old do it all with an 8 month old on my hip I need more energy than I possess and upBeat keeps me going without the ill effects of caffeine.

I used to be an avid Pepsi drinker. Like a horribly addicted Pepsi drinker, 3-4 cans a day. I'd be all groggy and unfocused, down a can of pepsi and feel an instant surge of sugar and caffeine and attack my day with a vengeance. Until nap time. That is about when the first can would run out of my system. After nap time I would need another one, and another. Each time it was a roller coaster from super loads of energy to feeling lifeless and exhausted.

upBeat! is not like this at all. It has a special blend of protein, B vitamins and fiber
to give you more energy and help you maintain that energy by releasing it slowly throughout the day. I don't feel that *zip* of energy like I do from Pepsi - I feel more levelheaded and I can attack my day without feeling lethargic and can actually keep up
with my 2 year old! Thank you B vitamins!! Also, I have noticed that with the protein my energy lasts longer than with pure sugar. Amazing!

Ok, so we know this stuff works and works really well. Now how does it taste? With only 100 calories I was afraid it would taste like Slim Fast. And I am sorry, but I am not a fan of slim fast. Instead of more words, let me show you how it tastes:

As if there couldn't be anything better about this amazing and delicious drink, it is from Keller's Creamery. They are a 100% farmer-owned cooperative, so all the money goes right in the pockets of the hard working farmers that produce it. Oh yeah!

This is sold exclusively at HyVee. We just got one in our town a couple months ago - I am off to buy more, my samples are running out! If you have a HyVee near you go to UpBeatenergy.com for a coupon for 55 cents off!

I received some samples of upBeat for my review and every single word is my honest opinion.

Ramblers Way Wool Clothing

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Ramblers Way. All opinions are 100% mine.

Wool clothing.

The first thought to come to my mind is itchy, scratchy sweaters. Not soft undershirts and lounge wear.

But Ramblers Way is re-imagining wool clothing. They sell amazing shirts made from 100% wool, and they aren't the sweaters you instantly imagine. They look at first glance like soft cotton t-shirts. The versatility of these clothes is amazing! You can wear them alone with a jacket, under suits, as pajamas - the list can go on. And the best part is that Ramblers Way creates these clothes to be as soft as synthetic fibers while being better for the environment. You can feel amazing comfort while wearing wool! That really shocked me and I want to head on over to this site to find out more for myself.

I already knew that wool has so many amazing qualities that cotton does not, since I used wool diaper covers for my baby. It naturally repels odors. You can go days without washing it because wool is naturally anti-microbial. And Ramblers Way sells worsted wool garments, which means, "they are made using superfine, long staple wool, free of those pesky, itchy loose ends. The end result is a smooth, strong, and incredibly soft fabric. Using worsted yarn requires us to be more selective wool, but producing some of the finest wool garments available is well worth it" (from the Rambler's Way site).

I use cloth diapers and reusable grocery bags. That is how I am trying to go green. Opting for more environmentally friendly clothing is another step I want to take. Wool, being from animals, is a natural renewable resource. This is so much better for the environment than polyester blends.

Just head on over to their site and you will be as blown away as I was by the many ways they are helping the environment - from trying to use a few papers and packaging materials as possible to using soft combs on the sheep. Ramblers Way is re-imagining wool clothing.

Lady Bugs and Lilly Pads

Oh my goodness, I think I am in love! This online boutique has some of the most adorable and just downright gorgeous items! These are truly one of a kind. Most of the items are handpainted or hand crafted. This is important to me since my husband is a woodworker. I know the value of creative, detail oriented work and appreciate amazing pieces of art when I see it.

This boutique was founded in January 2007 by Sarah Tyndall when she wanted to share her love of exquisite children's furniture, clothes and toys with others. She is a homeschooling mom to two daughters. She is very selective in what she sells and has an eye for things of beauty.

Just take a look at some of the things on her site! I was amazed at how perfectly lovely every single piece was. I wish she had a boutique in my hometown!

Talk about pefection! I love this Twinkling Tees custom Tee. They also do birthday numbers. I can just see Bubs looking too cute for words with a "B" on his shirt!
They have lots of to die for girl's toy boxes, but I wanted to highlight this unisex one. My daughter loves trains! This would be so perfect for her. It is a Three Little Ziglets handpainted toybox. Handpainted? That is some amazing talent!

These Monkey Toes Little Ladies were actually worn by Suri Cruise
so you know they are high fashion! What makes them fabulous is that they are handpainted! Yes, there is a 2 week waiting period because every single shoe is a work of art.
There are also gifts for the older children. Talk about going to school in style - what an adorable personalized lunchbox! Forget about the older kids, I am so snagging one of these Sweet Mady personalized lunchboxes for myself.

I was honestly impressed by this boutique. I did not receive any compensation whatsoever for my post, this place is just so amazing I wanted to share!

Dirt Devil Holiday Buying Guide

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Dirt Devil. All opinions are 100% mine.

SocialSpark Disclosure Badge

Yay, it is the holidays! Tons of bloggers are creating wonderful gift guides for you - take a peek at my side bar and you will find a few of my favorites!

Since I am online a LOT (a ton more than I should be that's for sure) I love shopping online too. I don't know if you have this problem, but I have a few gifts I need to buy and when I go to the store or sit down in front of my computer, I get a blank. It is usually my aunt, uncle or father in law that I just don't know what to get them. Sure, I could go with the usual smelly lotions for the females and sausage 'n crackers basket for the men.

But check out the Dirt Devil Holiday gift guide!

What? Aren't they the guys that make vacuums?

Yes they are. But they created this amazing gift guide - and it isn't full of just vacuums and dirt suckers either.

2009dirtdevilguide_250x250

It has ::
**lists of web sites with online coupon codes,
**places to donate your unwanted items to clear out of your house,
**web sites with amazing deals organized by gift type
**and a ton more!

Of course, sprinkled throughout the gift guide are their handy products. You learn so much about how to save money online (and also a thing or two about Dirt Devil's new cleaners).

My favorite part of the gift guide is tips for making your Google search more productive. For example, I didn't know that you can filter your searches by using the negative sign. Like if you wanted to find info on salsa, but not salsa dance you would type "salsa -dance" neat huh?

Even better, the gift guide has some free shipping shortcuts - so it makes shopping online oh so much sweeter!

Then, after you are done you can check out Dirt Devil.com to check out the great gifts for women and men - get something better than smelly candles and cologne! These are things they will use and appreciate.

Tofurky and Gravy Soda {Review}

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Jones Soda. All opinions are 100% mine.

SocialSpark Disclosure Badge

I received the funniest thing in the mail today!
I reviewed the new Jones soda flavor - Tofurky and Gravy. The nice folks at IZEA also sent me this funny hat:

It sure got lots of laughs and giggles from the children!

I cannot wait to take this hat to my family over our thanksgiving! I will be sure to get lots of funny pics!

The hat is still a little big for Bubs, but he sure had fun playing peek-a-boo with it!

Josh took one look at the Tofurky and Gravy soda and said, "Nope. I'm not trying it."
I was really curioius. I am a Jones Soda fan and this intrigued me.

I taped my first taste for you! And Lizzie wanted to try it too, so here is her first taste as well. I hope you enjoy!

This is not something I would buy a lot of. To tell the truth, I don't know if I am going to be the one to finish the bottle I have or if I am going to let Lizzie do it! But I am going to take to to my family's thanksgiving and pour some for everyone to try. What a fun thing to laugh over! Great memories :) Maybe I'll make it a game and take a pic of a person wearing the hat and trying the soda! I see another blog post coming....

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

The Ultimate Cloth {Review}

Click the button to find out more about the Ultimate Cloth or to purchase your own!

Ever since I started using cloth diapers, I have become curious about ways to become more green- and save green too!

I love using wash cloths and water or vinegar for all my cleaning, but when it comes to washing windows or mirrors, I always reached for the Windex. Honestly, since I am still new to becoming eco-friendly I didn't really think much about it.

Then I discovered the Ultimate Cloth. It is made of MiraFiber and works with only water to clean any surface without streaks.

A truly green product - no more paper towels, no more chemicals! And just think of all the money I'll be saving not buying those things too!

This is how it works - the MiraFiber collects the dirt and junk into the crevices of the fibers.

I was kinda skeptical so I washed a few things and took a super close up photo of the dirty cloth. You can see the dirt inside the fibers - isn't that amazing?

So, how well does it work? Well here are some photos for you to judge for yourself!

Car windshield before cleaning

Same windshield after cleaning with the Ultimate Cloth and water only!

My microwave. On the left I used a paper towel and water. On the right I used the Ultimate Cloth and water.

Now my microwave is sparkling and streak free - with only water and the Ultimate Cloth.

Cleaning the Ultimate Cloth is easy too - just handwash with dish soap or throw it in the washing machine. Just make sure that if you put it in the washing machine that you only wash it with lint free items and don't use fabric softener.

I was given an Ultimate Cloth to use around my home to help me write this article from my experiences. The opinions are totally my own.

Bare Skin {Review}

Bare Skin is the new perfume from Leslie Blodgett Perfume Diaries exclusively for Sephora - the makers of Bare Escentuals.

I am very picky when it comes to perfume. Too much musk makes me ill, too much floral gives me a headache and too fruity makes me nauseous.

Leslie said she created this perfume to capture the timeless experience of being on beach in the warm sun - just the sun and your skin. Pure ecstasy.

I can't believe it, but she did it! She captured emotion in this little vial. The emotion of feeling relaxed, peaceful, romantic and sexy. There is just enough musk to bring images of sand on the skin to mind, and enough floral hints to make you feel pretty.

When I put this on my wrist and neck I feel sexy.
I feel pretty.
I want to go out and dance!

Amazing! For a picky perfume person, I fell in love with Bare Skin. Now I know exactly what I want for Christmas!

You can become a fan of Bare Skin on facebook - so you can learn more about this product and get the latest news!

I received 2 sample vials of Bare Skin so I could write this review. The opinions are entirely my own.

Branson, right next door

Click the green links to see Branson's amazing holiday deals! Looks like ton 'o fun to me!

I live super close to Branson Missouri and I sure don't take advantage of the proximity. For a person that loves live music only having been to Branson once is pretty unfortunate.

But the one time I did go is still in my memory as one of the best times of my life!

It was my church youth group's prom alternative. We loaded on the bus and drove straight there. Once we arrived we enjoyed the sites and shopping! I loved the thrill of the go cart racing, even though I totally lost. Then we went back to our hotel and got all "gussied" up (in Branson Ozark terms) and went on the Showboat Branson Belle. My silly adolescent imagination took over. At once I felt like a celebrity enjoying dinner and a show on the elegant waters. Then I imagined I was Rose Dewitt Beauquater from Titanic over the icy ocean. Dressing up and eating on a boat was fabulous - the show was a huge bonus!

We stayed at an inexpensive hotel that I can't recall, but I really wish we could have stayed at th Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing or the Hilton Branson Convention Center.

Please check out the links above to book your stay this winter!

I have seen some Hilton hotels and they know class! Right now the Convention Center has a bunch of specials and packages that I am really tempted to take advantage of - like the Moon River package or staying at the Hilton Bed & Breakfast. I'd love a spa treatment too, but a gal can dream can't she?

What I really want to do is stay at the Hilton in December so Lizzie can enjoy story time with Mrs. Clause and then Santa himself will bring presents, cookies and milk to our room! That is such a wonderful idea!

Branson, so close to us....why don't we take advantage of it?

I received compensation from Geile Leon Marketing to write this review of Branson Missouri and all the words and ideas are my own.

Beautiful Mess - The Story of Diamond Rio {Review}

If you are a fan of country music, christian music and reading - this is the book for you! This is the true story about the struggles of Diamond Rio - how they became a band, how they worked their behinds off to earn a lousy dollar and how they stayed together as a band despite some serious strife.

Diamond Rio is as rare in music as diamonds are in the world of jewels. They resisted drugs, carousing, stayed together as a band without replacing any members and stayed true to their roots and sound. This book opens the fans eyes to how hard it is to be a band and stay a band in the world of music.

It opens up with a huge problem - the lead singer Marty Roe is losing his ability to sing. Then it leaves you hanging as it switches to the very humble beginnings of the band. From there each chapter is a short biography of the individual members. I loved the member chapters because they are flavored with the voices of the guys themselves - almost as if they wrote it! It was like I was sitting down with the guys learning about their individual lives, and this really made me appreciate how different they all are and how much work it is to keep such differences melded in a band for 20 years!

The book then takes you through their extreme successes and highlights again what amazing men they are. After they hit it big with "Meet in the Middle," they'd get strippers or drugs taken to their bus from owners of venues trying to get on the guy's good sides. Only all these "gifts" were very quickly rejected - as was the free booze! Hooray for morals in a decaying world!

Even their successes had some serious struggles. At one very low point one member had a mass on his lungs, another seriously cut his legs in a boating accident and another almost sliced off his thumb while using a miter saw! But they overcame this and other more personal issues to make country music history!

My favorite part of the book was when it went back to Marty's struggles with his voice. It was the lowest point for the entire band and they stuck by him. If he couldn't sing anymore Diamond Rio was done - they were not going to replace him like other bands might have!

Author Tom Roland did a fantastic job of compiling 40 years of history into very easy to read 290 page book. At times it felt more like a history lesson, but serious country fans will appreciate those pages.
This book is also filled with pictures of the members from their childhood, personal family photos, tour photos and candid pics like Jimmy skydiving. The only thing that could have made it better would be color pictures!

Thomas Nelson publishers also gives readers a free audio book and e-book with the purchase of a bound book - now my husband can listen to the book at home and we can discuss it together! I love this!

I am a Thomas Nelson publisher reviewer. I received a free copy of this book to review on my blog.

Oh No! Milk & Teething Biscuits

Oh No!
Those two words are the scariest ones Lizzie Lou says. I dreaded the sound as I groggily reached for my morning coffee. She was sitting at the table quietly eating her cereal and I was trying to open my eyes.
Oh No!
I closed my eyes, and braced myself for what she meant. "Lizzie Lou, what is the matter dear?"
Oh No, Milk Mama!

First thing in the morning I really do want to pour out 3/4 gallon of milk to fish out a tub full of crayons, pencils and markers. Thank you Lizzie Lou darling...thank you.

Now that you are rolling with laughter at my milk's expense, you wanna hear some really good news? I won some organic teething biscuits from Belle's Biscuits! Chari @ Take Time To Smell The Rose hosted the giveaway- thanks Chari! The good folks at Belle's Biscuits don't know I am going to review them, but I can't help myself - these are wonderful!

Bubs is 6 months old and hasn't started teething yet. But he has started solids. His favorite thing to do is hold crackers and gnaw, suck and drool all over them.

The biscuits are heart shaped and the perfect size for him to hold on with both hands. This is what sets these apart from other teething biscuits - they can be held by both hands! He is still at the exploratory stage with solids and he loves transferring the biscuit from one hand to another, using both hands and the heart shape is also fun for him to play with in his mouth. Genius!

I also love the quality of them. They are made in small batches, from organic products and they come in Eco-friendly packages. Also, if you are worried about possible food allergies, these are the best to get. They are dairy, soy and wheat free. They just came out with a gluten free kind too! When I told this to Josh he was like "then what is in it?" They are made from Oat flour, so easy on baby's tummy.

Yummy, easy on the tummy, and slightly messy. What else does a little boy want?

Bubs was like "mama, get me more of these please!" But I won't need to get any for a bit, since they can be refrigerated and used over and over!

Yay for teething biscuits!

I received 2 boxes of teething biscuits that I won in a blog giveaway. The company Belle's Biscuits never contacted me about a review, I did this all on my own!

Backwards is Right!

If you haven't heard, putting your child rear facing for as long as possible is the safest way to travel in a vehicle.

If you want facts, figures and to see crash test videos go to Joel's Journey.org It isn't made with scare tactics, it is a web site devoted to saving as many children as possible. It was created by Joel's grandfather. Joel was a 33 pound 18 month old that broke his neck when he was in his front facing car seat.

But if you want the funny/silly reasons I rear face - then here they are!

Lizzie Lou loves facing backwards because:
*She can see the train for a lot longer amount of time
*She is more reclined and sleeping is more comfortable
*She can see Bubs easier and sing to him

Why I love her rear facing:
*I can eat whatever I want without her saying "Zizzie bite!"
*She falls asleep faster
*She is in her own little world and I can have time to think

While I was browsing car seat safety, installation, and the best car seats out there I also found some super fun things too!

Baby Bella Maya makes the most adorable slip covers for toddler and infant car seats. I won one from Eco Chic!

Isn't it the cutest thing ever? I love the blue and brown stripes so much.....This is an Evenflo Triumph Advanced. If you look closely you can see that the bottom original fabric of the seat pokes through a bit. That's because Baby Bella Maya makes this to fit most toddler seat brands. So it won't fit every single seat perfectly - but it fits mine pretty darned well don't ya think?

It is a very soft silky fabric...since it is so new to me I haven't gotten it dirty yet, but it looks like it will be super easy to handwash.

The photo below is Lizzie Lou in the original Triumph Advance cover....what an impressive difference a simple, elegant cover makes!

And you can see how well Lizzie Lou still fits rear facing. Her and Bubs fit into the same sized seats now! This is a good thing because ever since we got this new cover on it, she will throw fits wanting to sit in her old seat.

We took out the infant seat and my mother in law treated us to a new convertible! I can't believe how spoiled I am - she bought us the Sunshine Kids Radian XT! I can't afford this, but she is a blessing to us! This has one of the highest safety ratings, steel alloy frame, side impact protection, but no cupholders!

Yup, that is the one thing my mother-in-law was bummed about. She said "Annie, are you sure you want this one? Where will Lizzie put her drink?"

I laughed! Ok, I giggled to be polite. She won't be drinking in this car seat cadillac! Besides, isn't safety a bit more important than cupholders? oh MeMa....

Now I'd like to leave you with a super happy Bubs. Oh he just loved the silkiness of his new car seat cover!

Glory Baby Mei Tai

After giving birth to David and wearing him in my Moby, I became obsessed with the idea of wearing him. I wanted to try a whole bunch of different carriers, including a Mei Tai. Thankfully, a really nice WAHM named Minda was doing her 2nd round of testing for her Mei Tai's and I totally signed up!

And I am totally in love with Glory Baby Mei Tai now!

I love that they are reversible - I have a girl and a boy and I don't need to purchase 2 MT's for each gender!

It has an attached hood that when rolled up really does a fantastic job of head support for my sleeping baby.

The padded straps were super comfy. This was my first MT and it is almost as comfy as my Beco Butterfly 2 - talk about impressed!

It has a contoured body which fits my 4 month old and 2 year old really well.

I picked out the fabric - I am a totally nut about customization and this MT screams "annie!"

Lizzie loves to be worn around the house, it is almost like a game to her. When are are out and about though, it is David I wear. But this MT fits her so well, and can you see how happy she is?

This was my first attempt at using the headrest when he fell asleep. As you can see I didn't get it as snug as he probably needed, but it worked very well! And I am just loving this fabric (I bought it, but I had no idea how fantastic it would look on a MT)

The hood has a brown fabric panel that can hide the other fabric. I love that my fabric is on the hood too.

I was getting a little better at the hood tying here, but he was awake and looking all around, thus loosening my knot :)

Tonight Josh wanted to wear David while he swept and mopped the floor (Ladies, he is ALL MINE!!) As you can see David was more interested in eating the MT and Daddy's shirt than anything else, but he was happy the whole time! The MT fit Josh pretty well...I trimmed the straps to fit me thinking Josh would only use the Beco Butterfly 2...I didn't know he would actually want to try this one! Well, the straps DO fit Josh, but there is only like 2 inches left after wrapping and tying! (That is what my 6'2 hubbie gets for marrying a 5'4 gal!)

I am actually grabbing for this more than my Ring Sling. It is my go to carrier around the house. I still like the Beco for grocery shopping since I am just not good enough at "on the go" back wraps yet. But as David gets older I'll get better!

Beco Butterfly 2 Bliss

Look what I got for my birthday!

Ok, this isn't the most flattering photo of me, but David loves being carried in it and so does Lizzie. In fact, one day she was really crabby while I needed to get a few things done around the house. I kneeled in front of her and asked "do you want to ride on my back while I do laundry?" She laughed and said "mama back!" After the laundry was done she sat on the couch, hugged the butterfly to her chest and said "mine!"

My mother in law bought me the Organic Sky BB2 from PaxBaby.com I totally suggest anyone to go this site if you are shopping for carriers. Jillian is the owner, and the mother of 5 kids! She is wonderfully sweet and will answer any questions you have regarding baby wearing.

So far I have taken the butterfly to the mall and grocery store. I just got this last week, so I am still learning how to make it perfectly comfy and faster to put on. I am getting better every time!

Babywearing at the grocery store is a must for me because I don't have room in my cart for my toddler and a carseat. Not to mention, David isn't a fan of being in his carseat to the store, in the store and on the way home - this gives him some mama time!

I didn't miss the stroller one bit at the mall. Lizzie usually wants to "help" push it - translated her swerving all over almost hitting every single pedestrian, me apologizing and looking silly. Another bonus - I don't have an excuse to buy things without a stroller to put the bags in!

Any other babywearers out there? What is your fav thing about BWing out and about?
