Oh My Darlings

While Josh has been away on his 5 days work & witness trip in SD (what our church calls a missions trip where you work...and witness) I have been making more silly memories with my darlings. And if you read my blog long enough you will soon learn that I have the best in laws in the world! Josh's parents treated me, David and Lizzie to a meal and a movie on Monday. Before the movie, Lizzie played at the park with her Grandad.

These are the best memories! She loves her Grandad. And rightly so - he is a very loving, intelligent, gentle, funny, calm, and Godly man. He is who Josh hopes to be like someday - and at the rate he is going he doesn't have far to go!

Capturing the moment as Grandad taught his Lizzie Lou about the spider web in front of them. I can just see her little mind taking it all in.

Another perfect moment, not such a silly one, just peacefully looking at the bubbling brook.

Grandad was pushing the other side of the teeter totter and Lizzie would crack up as she fell to the ground! Yay for silliness!

"Ok Lizzie, picture time! Now you hug mommy's neck - good job!" David had fallen asleep by the time we found a perfect place for a family photo

A gorgeous photo of David just enjoying the weather in my Beco! This little girl (8 years old?) wanted to show me the "forest of trees" and then saw my camera. She really wanted to take my picture so I let her. If you look closely behind me those signs say "Stay off the rocks! Don't climb on the water fixture!" Where do you think she is standing? I love the pic though!

Every time we leave the house Lizzie has to gather up the things she wants to take "bye bye." Here, you can see she grabbed two board books and a clean, empty wetbag. I just figured out why my van can't stay uncluttered....
She found my purse-sized snapping Bible and declared it to be "Zizie Bible!" Then she started to read it to her baby Mycah. She wanted me to read it to her so I just told her the creation story (she was in Genesis after all!) And yes, the crib is for playing, not sleeping :)

Ahhh.....what a relaxing photo to end with. Can you believe my exclusively breastfed, co sleeping, baby worn child self soothes? I was honestly shocked when he did it, hence the picture. See, Lizzie never did. If I put Lizzie on my bed on her tummy drowsy, she would scream and cry until I picked her up. I had just put David on his tummy close to falling asleep cause I had to get Lizzie ready to go. By the time we were ready to head out the door, there he was...

Oh my darlings!
