I Quit!

Seriously, I want to quit selling Discovery Toys. Sometimes I feel like I want to give up being a stay at home mom, you know put them in someone else's care. Some one trained.

Throughout my life I have been a quitter. I wasn't good at sports in middle school so I didn't even try in high school. I got super frustrated with my old clarinet so I just quit band. Thankfully, that was only immaturity.

But then I heard the song below and it changed my life. It really did! I get so stinking discouraged with life. If I fail at something that must mean I am just not good at it, so why not quit and find something easier?

Then the lyrics of this song grabbed my head and my heart.

"To fall is not to fail.
You fail when you don't try."

WOW! So just because I totally screw something up doesn't mean I suck so much at it that I should drop it completely. But if I do drop it, that is when I fail.

Seems like elementary thoughts, but man I need to remind myself of these words every time I fail.

Discovery Toys isn't going so well. I have maybe 1 or 2 parties booked for the rest of the year. And this is supposed to be the Christmas season, you know my busiest time of the year? Yikes. I kept hearing "I am too busy." "I don't know anyone to invite to a party." "Sorry, not interested." And it really started to get to me. Maybe this isn't for me, I thought. But then Josh reminded me that I need to stick with it.
It will get better, he said.

So here is my theme song!
Even though Discovery Toys isn't working out yet, it will if I keep getting up.
Even though my kids are unruly, my house is utter chaos and my laundry is the biggest mountain in Kansas, I keep going!

Please enjoy the song that changed my life!

direct sales is hard, especially when you are new to it. Hang in there!

You just started, hang in there.

Remember, nothing worth while is easy!

I am in direct sales too (BeautiControl) and hear every excuse in the book! I know how you feel because sometimes I just want to quit too...but then I'll have one great party and I feel better.

Annie, I too and struggling with the quitting thing - but for different reasons. Wanted to encourage you - sent the grandparents in your direction for Christmas gifts, so hopefully you'll see something soon from them. I love you, friend and am so proud of you for sticking with it!

It's too soon. At least give it some more time and see what happens. If it's not panning out after 6 months, reevaluate. Good luck!
