Body After Baby, week 7?

WOWZERS!

I cannot believe the end is here....I feel like it came too quickly.

Thank you Samanatha @ MamaNotes - I couldn't have gotten this far without your challenge!

My goal was 20 pounds in 8 weeks. I now realize that wasn't very realistic for my body. I really tried hard, but I know I could have tried harder. I could have exercised more. I could have actually stuck to a diet.

But what I did was kinda change...but I did it full time. I never fell off my new change. I ate breakfast, got off my tush and constantly moved. I wore my baby as much as possible. And I feel better!

Those pants that I hated now fit!! My energy level is higher, my attitude better and eating habits are improved.

Not the changes I dreamed, but these will stick. If I continue to stick to them I will see even more changes in the future!

The after photo will be posted next week...yay!

Body After Baby Challenge - Babywearing & toning up!

Samantha at MamaNotes posted a really great post today that really energized me to keep on going with this Body After Baby Challenge!

I have definitely slacked when it came to writing down what I ate. This led to me eating things that really hindered my progress. But I kept going. I kept telling myself everyday that today I was going to treat myself better, stay more active and choose wisely what I ate.

So here I am, so close to the end and super excited!

My clothes are fitting better!

I am feeling better about my house (talk about staying active - tidying a house burns calories)

I feel better about my body

I am choosing better foods for Lizzie and I - and this is increasing our good moods too.

Participating in this challenge didn't give me an entirely new body, but it gave me the boost and encouragement I needed to keep going every day, even when I wanted to give up. It has really changed my lifestyle.

The best change has been Babywearing. I am a nut about it now! When David fusses I just pop him in my Mei Tai and keep doing what I was doing.

I load the dishwasher with him strapped to me and wow, I burn way more calories this way!

I also wear him every time I go to the grocery store. He sits in my Beco Butterfly 2 for this and by the time I get home I am feeling energized! Exercise truly does release endorphins and I feel great after wearing him around.

The best part - I tone up too. Maybe that is why my clothes fit better even though the scale only reads 8 pounds lighter. I'm not complaining about 8 pounds, that is about a 1 pound a week loss - a healthy rate :)

So I am going to keep wearing him, keep walking with Lizzie outside and continue eating right. Just cause the challenge is ending doesn't mean I will go back to lounging around!

Body After Baby Challenge....been too long!

Update time! Wow, I took forever to update how I've been doing.

Last week was Vacation Bible School and I helped teach/lead the children songs with lots of actions. I also ran around taking the 5th &6th graders to their various activities. But, I didn't take very good care of myself since I wore myself OUT. For example, Monday wore me out so Tuesday I'd sleep in with my babies, skip breakfast, eat an OK lunch and go to VBS skipping dinner (I just ate what they served the kids for snacks...not healthy!)

So I am down to 148 Yay! But I just can't be proud of it since last week's weight loss was not accomplished correctly.

I bought some awesome fresh fruit and more frozen veggies. I sure hope to start cooking healthier for my family too.

Today my goals are:

Dance & play with Lizzie
eat healthy snacks
cook healthy meals
Drink LOTS of water
Work out some more on my DVD

I feel so much better about my body already. Oh! And I can fit into one of my pre pregnancy jeans! They are around the house jeans still though because they are a bit too tight for me to feel comfy going out in public :)
