Loobalee Review and Giveaway!

Have you tried to sell things on eBay? Well there is a reason there are people making money selling other people's things for them - it is time consuming and a tad overwhelming for a newbie like me. eBay works super well for those that know how to work it but I never had success because I didn't have the time to learn the little tricks.

So if I want to sell my Lizzie Lou's adorable clothes I could try our local consignment shop - but that didn't work and I only got like $2 for a cute dress.

There had to be a way to sell my clothes for what they were worth.

Then I found Loobalee! WooHoo!

It is only $30 for unlimited listings on their site. And you will be in the company of some gorgeous listings - Ralph Lauren, Gymboree, Tommy Hilfiger and Baby Lulu to name a few! And it is super easy to list things on there too. The site is super well organized and easy to navigate with very detailed search terms. This is a frugal mom's online shopping dream come true!

Want a few examples?

  • I saw an adorable pink L.L. Bean snow jacket and pants set listed for $15. After zooming in on the pics (love that option!) I couldn't see the reason for the low price except that it isn't new. I am still trying to convince Josh to let me get that one!
  • A pink roses Baby Lulu Chenille dress with matching hat for only $16.50!
If you want to buy designer children's clothes but don't want to wait for sales and love shopping online, or if you have a bunch to sell, check out Loobalee!

Quick bit about them:
Suzanne and her husband Peter co-founded Loobalee.com when they wanted a simpler way to sell children's clothes online. Suzanne said she "could visualize a custom, simple approach unique to children’s clothing – an approach that helped Moms buy and sell on-line easily, and also help Moms benefit from my experiences in dressing my kids for “virtually” free.It has taken the contribution of nearly 40 people to bring LoobaLee.com to you."

Spotlight Saturday!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with your families! I had a very busy week with my husband's family and have another big day ahead of me tomorrow. This spotlight will be a tad smaller than normal, but please go visit this mama - she rocks so much!

menopausalnewmom

This week I am spotlighting Deb from Menopausal New Mom. She is hilarious! This girl says it like she sees it. Period. Her blunt sense of humor cracks me up every time. She is also very honest about her personal life and I find this to be so refreshing. You see, life isn't always pretty and she puts it all out there. It makes me feel so much less alone when I feel crazy or out of control. Cause no one is perfect.

I'd also like to add that Deb is a wonderful writer. Every blogger has a specific talent - whether it is photography, compiling a ton of different info, reviewing, whatever. Hers is humor and writing. I go to her blog expecting big things - a smile, a tear, a chuckle or a brow furrowed in thought - and I am never disappointed.

Have a wonderful weekend - and when you go to say hi to Deb, tell her mama dweeb sent ya!

Silly Photo for a fun Contest

Apparently, Lizzie thought my bubble light looked like a nipple of some sort, so she started to "nurse" the baby on the tree. Her words. I was lucky to catch this shot!!

I am at home today with my family and found a blog giveaway that I would just love to win!

Last time I blogged about a giveaway I won, so maybe I can try again?

Trisha from MomDot.com is hosting a giveaway for an Epson Artison 810 All in One Printer! WOW!

Yes, my printer is frustrating me. It is a great printer and all, but wouldn't it be nice to have one that prints lovely photos?

The only rule for this give away is that I post a hilarious picture on my blog and link back to the contest. That is why I posted that pic of Lizzie nursing her baby on the bubble light!

Then you can have unlimited entries!
Oh yeah, I am all about this!

Good luck as you enter!
And have a happy new year!

Wordless Wednesday- Merry Christmas!

May God bless you with a very Merry Christmas
as we celebrate the birth
of our Lord and Savior!

The Best of Mama Dweeb 2009

I enjoy this time of year - the magazine articles and radio shows featuring "best of...." for anything that has a collection.

So I am joining in.

This will be pretty easy for me, since I have only been blogging on mamadweeb.com since July. Before that I was always on good old XANGA.

I think I will include a post from there, just for fun.

I'll go in chronological order for you, with some commentary too!

In February, I was totally fat and pregnant and ready for David to make his debut! With 1 month to go I reflected on my desire to see him and my excitement about trying for a VBAC in a birth center with him.

Unfortunately, I did not succeed at having a VBAC. I ended up with a 2nd C-section and shared my birth story with my readers.

Then 3 months later I switched to blogger and here I am!

I reflected on my new found love for babywearing, including Lizzie's preoccupation with it herself. Then in August the economy started to really plunge and I posted a very vague and yet meaningful post - mostly photos of Lizzie and David, but it expressed how I felt.

As I continued to meet other mom bloggers I started to desire to become greener. I wrote a really funny piece asking "how green are you?" I compared the devotion level to a color...I thought it worked pretty well!

Then came one of my most vulnerable pieces yet - I wrote about my struggles with Bell's Palsey. It almost put me in a depression, but I learned how to smile anyway!

After I became involved in perhaps the BEST group of ladies in the blogosphere - MomDot - I joined the Bloggers and Tiaras competition. My post about the definition of Beauty is my all time favorite post to date. I was creative, heartfelt and it sounded lovely. I actually go back and read it from time to time to remind myself that I can, indeed, write well!

First Family Christmas in my own house!

For the first time ever I hosted a family Christmas party!

My mom's brother, sister, my siblings and cousins all came out on Sunday to enjoy our traditional povitica (pronounced "Poh-teets-uh" a sweet bread from Slovenia) and french cookies, as well as gifts and chit chat.

I have to admit, and I am not being vain at all, but this was one of the most fun times I have had with all these people in awhile. We all played games, ate food and opened gifts. Fun times!

Now for pictures - the best part of all!!

Bubs is scooting around - 100% mobile now! Here he scooted himself under the tree and was whining to get out. Before I grabbed him, I grabbed my camera!

He scoots around on the hardwood floors in a sitting position, leans all the way forward and pushes or pulls on the floor with his hands. He hates being on his tummy because then he can't grab whatever he wants!

Is this my son or my daughter?

Seriously, I wish her hair would just grow already :) Lizzie Lou loves Buzz Lightyear and Thomas the Train - both of which make her look like a boy when she wears them.

Oh well, at least she is also a fan of Disney Princesses!

This is my little brother's new fiance Brandy! They both attend Pittsburgh State University in Kansas and bought Bubs his first football. Their mascot is seriously a Gorilla - fierce!

Isn't this a sweet picture? He was so worn out....

Josh made sure to keep all the wrapping paper and burn it in our wood burning stove. He is such a pyromaniac (kidding!)

I think it is better for the environment this way....he thinks it is one less trip to the trash can with bags.

This is how Bubs first fell asleep on my little sister Bekah. The poor baby couldn't sleep with all the commotion so when he usually takes a 2 hour nap at 2pm he hadn't had any by 4:00. Soon after 4, he just layed on her lap and couldn't keep his eyes open.

Poor baby!

Josh's favorite gift so far!

Yes, we have a Yoda tree topper now! On our way to a Star Wars tree.

Not long after this photo was taken, he fell down.

The force was not with him.

Everyone! We had about 17 people in a 2 bedroom house. Josh did an amazing job setting up our table. He chopped up a piece of plywood to be 8ft long and gave us a beautiful dining room table. (our table is normally like 3 ft long or so)

Then we also had a card table in the living room.

I love the open floor plan. I am standing in the kitchen taking this pic looking at the living room.

Well, that does it for our first Christmas! Thank you for sharing it with me!

Merry Christmas everyone!!

Congratulations to my first winner!!

Hip Hip Hooray!

And the winner of my first ever giveaway is::::
